This is a perfect class for anyone wishing to create something fabulous for an upcoming Summer Wedding or during Royal Ascot 2019!
You will learn the basic principles of couture millinery using sinamay.
Day 1 will involve blocking your material, stiffening and wiring your hat base and attaching the petersham head fitting, elastic and comb so it stays securely in place when worn.
Day 2 is all about decorating your hat and various trimming options will be demonstrated. You can then choose to trim your cocktail hat using sinamay twists, handmade silk flowers, veiling sprays or feathers. Your fabulous handmade cocktail hat will then be ready to wear at your next Wedding or Race event!
Materials are provided – just bring a notebook and pen.
***The image shown is an indication of the type of cocktail hat you will create, however please note it will vary in design.
You’ll leave with:
- A supplier list for your material needs after the course
- Your finished cocktail hat
Refreshments will be provided and we will break for a 30 minute lunch at 1pm.
A local shop and cafe/restaurant are just a few minutes walk away, however please feel free to bring your own lunch. Please bring along a small box to take away your handmade work.
Hand sewing skills are required.
